Our room was practical and had a bathroom, which was convenient, and we appreciated having a microwave oven and a refrigerator.

location-wisely, it's money-worthy as only 3 metro stops away from the marienplaz (only takes ard 5 mins). The staff is really nice since the breakfast time starts from 7 to 9am but as we need to catch train and leave early, they offer to make the breakfast for us at 6:30. Recommand!

The family operating the hotel is cooperative, helpful and sincere. The hotel is near Metro station (there are two inlets to the metro station, one at beginning of the street with elevator beside it so you do not need to carry your luggage). The breakfast open buffet is good.
The rooms are small.

The room is big. And the breakfast is ok. You can arrive the Hotel from the metro station(U-bahn) in 5 min. Although it is not directly by the main railway sation of Munich, it is convinient to arrive.
The bathroom in the room is so small like a small cabin. Fortunately we can use the commen bathroom on the same floor. But we pay for a room with shower. That means we should take shower in our own room. Is it?

We booked this place for it's proximity to Theresienwiese for Oktoberfest 2011. It certainly was close as it only took me around 10- 15mins to walk to a beer tent from my room.
We stayed here for one night for close proximity to Theresienwiese for Oktoberfest 2011. I wished we stayed the extra night in Stay Munich. Hotel Pension was hugely overpriced due to Oktoberfest and it was pretty ordinary compared to the night before at Stay Munich. If you're looking for a place for Oktoberfest I would suggest staying out of the centre of Munich and then just Public transporting it to the festival as it's so easy and the services run till like 3am even though Oktoberfest shuts before midnight. Also Parking was very scarse at this place and we were very lucky to get a spot.

Nice family pension with a lot of space and excellent breakfast buffet.
the building itself is ugly and the rooms to the patio have to deal with some smells or noise coming in from there (even though the street itself is quiet and has a nice Munich feeling in spite of its proximity to the Theresienwiese).

I recently stayed at Pension Schmellergarten for a weekend getaway in Munich. The location was fantastic, with easy access to the subway just a few steps away. The cleanliness of the hostel was impeccable, from the rooms to the shared facilities. We had a private room with its own sink and wardrobe, providing a sense of privacy. The simple but delicious breakfast served in the morning was a great start to the day. The staff were friendly and helpful, even accommodating our request to leave our bags after check-out. great value and clean facilities for a comfortable stay.
